When pre-planning logistics for Out of Gauge cargo, one must consider the feasibility to use trucking, taking into consideration the dimensions and weight. Over height can be extremely cost restrictive and can require overhead structures, electrical wires etc. to be moved or lifted, depending the route and the state borders that are crossed. Another option is to review barging and the customers location and them having access to the intercoastal waterways. In this case, barging was the best option due to the over width and weight of the packages.
