Procam recently transported 3 transformers of 50 T each for a leading Hydro Power Equipment manufacturer after conducting a feasibility study & planned the journey covering total distance of 1560 km.
Being an ODC cargo, the risks involved in handling & movement of all the consignments were very high. The entire stretch faced frequent landslides. There were 2 electrified railway crossings for which permission & shut down had to be arranged in close liaison with the Indian Railways.
Since the roads were unpaved with sharp turns, the team proactively conducted safe movement by building temporary roadway/base to execute smooth movement over the under developed roads. With constant engagement with the customer, we helped in increasing the capacity of the steel bridge from 40 MT to 100 MT by providing props, thereby reducing span length to facilitate load distribution.
The convoy management professionals used all available communication in the high altitude to ensure the traffic was well managed without any inconvenience to the stakeholders.
Another remarkable challenge was surmounted by the efficient team, complying with necessary HSE regulations throughout, and in line with Procam’s Vision of Delivering Innovation & Commitment.
