After handling close to 400 shipments for the construction of 1,200 MW Gas-fi¬red, combined-cycle Pulau Indah Power Plant in Port Klang, Megalift welcomes the arrival of Gas Turbines. There are two units along with many smaller packages comprising parts and accessories. Megalift received the first Gas Turbine recently from the port and transported it to the site.
Although the road distance between the site and port is only several kilometres, considering the weight and size of the cargo, it was required to take a longer detour crossing a free zone area. Furthermore, due to lack of accessibility, Megalift constructed a makeshift road between the free zone compound to the site entrance. The road has been used for the transportation of all heavy cargoes. Upon completing the project, Megalift will reinstate the gate and fencing as it is a restricted area.
Megalift is appointed as the official project logistics service provider in Malaysia, and will be taking charge of all transportation until all the shipments are delivered. The project is expected to see its completion in year 2024.
