Gruber Logistics Transported 20 Modules, Totaling 1800 tons and 4000 cbm from Apulia Italy to Saxony Germany

In the past few weeks, Gruber’s Bari and Napoli teams have managed an amazing shipment of 20 modules (parts of a Heat Recovery Steam generator) for a total of 1800 tons and over 4000 cubic meters.

The items were entirely produced at the Gioia del Colle plant in Apulia, Italy, and were intended to be sent to Lower Saxony, Germany.

Due to the weight and size, the items were not transportable by road from Italy to Germany. It was therefore necessary to organize the shipment by sea, with loading on vessel in port of Bari and unloading at the port of Rotterdam.

The modules measured 24 x 3 x 3.30 meters and the heaviest module was over 100 tonnes.

The dimensions of the units required the use of a special lifting tool for the handling with a length of 19 meters and a weight of over 10 tonnes.

The special transport by road from the plant to the port of Bari was carried out by Gruber using two modular convoys with a total length of 38 meters and a team of 10 people (escorts and drivers).
