Company history:

SHIPIT Logistics (formerly American Export Lines) was founded in 1974. The main business was general international freight forwarding services, mainly ocean exports. As their business grew they started consolidations going to the Middle East/Europe and Russia as well as some chartering into the Middle East. They slowly grew out of their original warehouse and upgraded from a 10,000 sq ft facility to a 20,000 sq ft facility.

Kasra joined the company in 2005 after graduating from USC with a B.A in International Relations and Global Business. That was the same year they moved into a 105,000 sq ft facility which is their current location. After working in Documentation/Customer Service/Operations for a few years, Kasra went to graduate school and obtained his MBA in 2010 with an emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. AEL-MapKasra’s contributions include expanding AEL’s worldwide agent network, introducing new IT systems including a Forwarding Operations System and recently a WMS system. Kasra also launched a new website with an active blog for customers, developed a domestic freight brokerage division, built an import division from scratch into a full-fledged operation and launched the Project Cargo division.

Q&A:
Q – “Why did you join CLC Projects?”

A – “There was a need for us to find agents who were more focused and specialized in Project/OOG Cargo and also to join a small intimate network that limited their membership so agents could really get to know each other on a personal level and focus less on pure sales (“what can you give me” type of mentality) and more on relationship development and trust which will eventually lead to sales and cooperation anyways. After studying 7 or 8 networks, I felt CLC Projects was the best network to fit our company’s goals of expanding our Project Cargo division. We like the fact that CLC Projects provides us market information/potential sales leads in Projects in our country, helps promote our company whenever possible and connects us to agents when needed.”

Q – “Which members have you done business with or exchanged inquiries with?”

A – “For exports we have cooperated with All Systems Logistics, Bee Logistics, Comexas, Delpa Shipping. We have quoted or requested quotes from SIS Logistik (very close to winning a project together), Air Wagon, Transocean Shipping, Arbour Shipping, Fast Logistics, A.R.T. Logistics, CEA Project Logistics, ITN Logistics, MBM Logistics, Multicont, Polytra, Ruwa Sped Ltd, Shin-Jo Logitech, Sea Cargo Logistics, Marmedsa.
