The Gruber Bari & Naples Team arranged the shipment of this railway machine from Italy to Egypt, taking care of all necessary requirements: loading with crane in Bari warehouse, heavy road transportation, stuffing and lashing on Mafi, sea transportation from Naples Port to Alexandria Port.
The cargo with dimensions 19900 x 3070 x 4200 mm, weighing 92 tons was a special railway chassis with Twin Crane (bi-crane) used in the recovery of railway locomotives in case of accident.
The crane can lift up to 75 tons and is destined for an important Egyptian institution (ORASCOM) which has won various jobs for Egyptian railways.
This machine was purchased overseas from Gruber’s client Avantgarde, a global leader and Italian company, that revamps railway machines. First the machine was transported partially dismantled in Italy with Gruber’s trucks and, after 6 months of changes, revisions and arrangements, was shipped from Bari to Egypt.
Due to the dimensions, road transportation from Bari to Naples would be quite difficult, and for this reason Gruber arranged 2 ferries, which made various static calculations on the way on some bridges and removal of obstacles, spending 6 days.
Last February 3rd the machine discharged in Alexandria Port and has already engaged in the Egyptian railway station.
