VTG Rail UK has launched a new international service in February, transporting a famous Italian beer brand from Italy to the UK. The train from Padova in northern Italy consists of 13 Megafret platform wagons carrying barrels filled with tasty beer in 45′ shipping containers which are unloaded in Tilbury, England and then reloaded with empty barrels for the return journey – a round trip of around 1,900 miles (3,000 km).
