Project description: 5 pieces of mining equipment (1500 FRT) transported from ex-works hinterland East India up to Beira Port, Mozambique.
Scope of Work:
- For pick up, placing 14 x 40’ trailers (mix of normal, semi low-beds & low-bed trailers) at hinterland East India mine of the shipper for loading, dismantling & stuffing of mining equipment, 1400 km from the port of loading in Mumbai
- Facilitating the complete documentation process of export of used mining machinery
- Stuffing, loading, lashing/chocking as per internationally acceptable standards to customer’s satisfaction
- 1400 km of transportation for the 6 meter and 5 meter wide packages from the mines to the port and under-hook delivery for all the equipment
- Custom clearance
- Port handling
- Sea freight (Breakbulk-Heavy Lift Vessel)
- Supporting customer in understanding the import process in Mozambique as well

Challenges:
- Time bound shipment
- Safe but shortest possible delivery time
- Being wide load & ODC overhang, special precautions were to be taken keeping in mind en-route height & width challenges (opening of toll gates & rail line gates)
- Special permits to be arranged for transportation of heavy cargo
- Some adjustments & alterations were made on the wide packages (dismantling of some extensions/protrusions) for transportation on India roads
- Seamless coordination with all stack holders, shipper, haulers, port authorities & shipping line for flawless operation and avoiding detentions & delays.
