Navieros Mexico Celebrates 25 Years

On 29 June Navieros commemorated its 25th anniversary in Manzanillo, México. The company was founded in 1994 by Roberto Meillon Sr., who was surprised on the event with the celebration of his 80th birthday.

Roberto Meillon Jr. – General Manager – acted as master of ceremony, delivering a very moving speech, briefly recounting the development of Navieros from its start to nowadays. Héctor Meillon translated for Japanese and American representatives of Toko Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (Toko Line) who attended the event – Kensuke Idaka, Business Departments Managing Director – General Manager; Kenzo Iwama, Business(I) Dept. North & Latin America – Regional Manager; Shunji Yamada, General Manager Toko Line (U.S.A.), Ltd.; Gregory A. Canonica, Vice President Toko Line (U.S.A.), Ltd.

A brief selection of testimonial videos was then projected, including local and national maritime authorities and bodies – namely Harbour Master, Navy Captain Rafael Vaca – purveyors, customers, close friends, and former and current staff, congratulating both Navieros and Don Roberto.

Recognition plaques were bestowed to present employees for their 10 to 25 years of service.
